Condé Nast & Hearst are building reader loyalty in Italy and Spain by offering free content
Now that Italy and Spain are in lockdown due to the coronavirus Condé Nast Italy gives readers free digital editions and unlocks its Vogue archive for free, Condé Nast Spain publishes all April editions for free online and Hearst Spain will make 19 of its publications free between March 12 to April 1.
In response to this global pandemic Condé Nast Italia has introduced a series of initiatives, which have included a special Vanity Fair issue distributed free to newsstands in Lombardy and available for free in digital format; an extended free digital distribution for the next three months and access to the Vogue Italia archive free of charge. Hearst Spain has also announced that it will make 19 of its publications, including Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and Cosmopolitan free between March 12 to April 1.
While these initiatives are only temporary, they will serve to build loyalty amongst readers, which will serve the magazine industry positively in the long-term.
